SUMMARY:BCFNJC Regional Justice Forum (North)
DESCRIPTION:The Regional Justice Forum (North) will bring together First Nations leadership\, community members\, justice partners\, and service providers\, deepening our relationships with the communities we serve. In fulfillment of Strategy 16\, this forum ensures that the 204 First Nations in B.C. have the opportunity to inform critical justice-related decisions at the provincial and federal levels. \nThis is an opportunity to engage with the BC First Nations Justice Strategy and the National Indigenous Justice Strategy\, sharing your knowledge\, elevating community-based solutions\, and to guide the advancement of the BC First Nations Justice Strategy through dialogue and collaboration through the lens of justice topics that are a priority in your community. \nThe BCFNJC Regional Justice Forum (North) will focus on: \n\nCommunity wellness and prevention before police involvement\nPre-charge and post-charge diversion models\nIndigenous justice programs and alternatives to incarceration\nReintegration and post-release supports\nThe National Indigenous Justice Strategy\n\nTravel & Reimbursement Information: To ensure sustainable support for a delegate representing each of our invitees\, please note the following reimbursement structure for this event:\nHotel Coverage: BCFNJC will cover the cost of the hotel stay at the Coast Prince George Hotel for one (1) Primary Delegate from each invited First Nations Community and each Justice Partner organization.\nTravel Rate: A flat-rate travel fee of $500 is provided to Primary Delegates traveling to Prince George (eligibility is strictly limited to one delegate per invited community/organization).\nPer Diem Policy: Please be advised that no daily per diems or meal allowances will be provided for this event beyond the hotel and the flat-rate travel fee mentioned above. Breakfast\, lunch\, and dinner will be provided on March 10th.
