In the Fall of 2023, the Indigenous women’s justice team travelled across BC and hosted 17 in person engagement sessions to gather feedback on the IWJP Guiding draft and to hear from those this work impacts most.
Following the engagement sessions the lived experiences and stories shared were thoughtfully integrated into the development of the Final Draft of the IWJP. In April 2024 the IWJP Final Draft was released at the 3rd Annual Justice Forum. From June -September 2024 the Women’s Team engaged with identified Ministry Partners and hosted 28 meetings.
In holding true to our values of transparency and accountability, our team will be providing an update on the progress of the work moving forward with focus on 3 priority Strategies.

Strategy 15: Legislation and Policy
We look forward to gathering in a good way, with the voices of Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals at the center.
