The Ku’We’Gahn helps offenders repair the harm they have done and works to increase the sense of justice for victims, families and others in the community. Ku’We’Gahn provides pre-charge and post-charge diversion programs, alternative measures programs, probation monitoring and other justice services in ways that incorporate Tahltan traditions.
KP - Adult Program
Ku’We’Gahn’s services for adults include but are not limited to bail and probation monitoring; pre- and post-charge diversion and alternative measures programming; restorative justice circles; coordination of community work service; and facilitation of culturally relevant healing plans.
KP - Youth Program
Ku’We’Gahn’s services for youth are primarily prevention and interventionbased in nature. Our staff facilitate family group conferences, restorative justice circles, and peacemaking circles for youth, families and in schools. Ku’We’Gahn may also provide assistance to Ministry of Children and Family Development Youth Probation upon request.
KP - Criminal Courts Support
Ku’We’Gahn works closely with the Native Courtworkers and Counselling Society of BC to help clients navigate the criminal courts and law, including assistance with criminal court applications, legal aid applications, and referrals to appropriate agencies. We help individuals understand the process of the criminal justice system and court orders.
