The Dze L K’ant Friendship Centre provides a number of quality services to the Aboriginal community. These services support people on their journey to become more selfsufficient and self-reliant. The Friendship Centre also dedicates time and resources to promoting awareness among Aboriginal people.
DLKFCS - Alcohol and Drug Counselling
The Alcohol and Drug Counsellor provides one-on-one, group, and family support to individuals who are or have been involved with substance abuse, including educational, activity-based, and counselling services. Assistance is geared towards respecting individual needs and providing timely, appropriate, and effective supports to address these. Where necessary, the Alcohol and Drug Counsellor also develops treatment plans and undertakes referrals.
DLKFCS - Legal Advocacy Program
The Legal Support Program is poverty law based. This includes legal problems that result from housing, income or food security. The Legal Support Program provides advocacy, information and referrals for the following poverty law matters: tenancy, income assistance (welfare), disability, government pensions, Child Tax benefit issues, consumer debt, employment standards, WorkSafeBC.
DLKFCS - Mental Health Outreach
Develops and delivers mental health services to individuals, families and groups. Some services offered include counselling, community activities and education, and treatment referrals.
