Quesnel Tillicum Society / Native Friendship Centre are committed community partners dedicated to encouraging healthy lifestyles and restoring balance to relationships. We offer a variety of different programs to help individuals, couples and families.
QTS/NFC - Youth Probation Outreach Worker
Our Youth Outreach Worker helps youth identify their lifeskills and needs within the community. The Youth Outreach Worker can provide information about drug and alcohol abuse as well as referrals to counselling, life-skills programs, employment programs, education programs, MCFD services & other services. The Youth Outreach Worker can assist youth in finding housing, support youth within the justice system, and help build linkages with family.
QTS/NFC - Mental Health Clinician
The Mental Health Clinician provides service to individuals with mental health concerns, including individual counselling and support. The Clinician also provides assistance to individuals dealing with concurrent disorders such as mental health and addiction. Working in conjunction with other service providers, the Clinician provides information to clients and makes referrals to other appropriate community resources to ensure that clients receive the best possible care. The Clinician also supports facilitation of a men’s group
QTS/NFC - Family Support Worker
This worker is a liaison with First Nations communities and the Ministry of Children and Families. The focus is to provide support to families and individuals.This includes assessing client needs, referrals to the appropriate community agency, and accompanying clients as needed. Crisis intervention is also provided for both families and individuals in the case of suicide, medical, financial, emotional and legal issues. Follow-up of all Aboriginal children in care including the foster families and parents/extended families is also provided.
QTS/NFC - Drug and Alcohol Counsellor
The Counsellor provides support to families and individuals, assessing client needs, making referrals to the appropriate community and medical agencies, and accompanying clients as necessary. Crisis intervention is provided for both families and individuals in the case of suicide, medical and emotional issues.
QTS/NFC - Employment Coordinator
Our Employment Coordinator works with clients to identify employment barriers and identify an action plan to enhance their employability. Quesnel Tillicum Society teams with CCATEC (Cariboo Chilcotin Aboriginal Training Employment Centre Society – see Williams Lake) to provide training and employment opportunities to clients. Our Employment Coordinator provides supportive assistance to new clients – including information sessions on résumé writing, interview techniques, and job search skills – as well as follow-up support to clients who have been successful in finding jobs.
