General Information
The program’s objectives include the reintegration of offenders; restoring and strengthening harmony between the offender and the community; and empowering the Ahousaht people to take responsibility for local justice issues, thereby keeping conflict resolution processes out of the mainstream justice system.
Programs and Services
AFNCJP - Adult Program
Services include but are not limited to adult bail, probation and parole monitoring; adult diversion and alternative measures programming; restorative justice, healing & peacemaking circles; coordination of community work service; and facilitation of culturally relevant healing plans.
AFNCJP - Youth Program
Services for youth include: extrajudicial sanctions and extrajudicial measures; restorative justice, peacemaking & healing circles; and supervision of community work service. In conjunction with our community partners, Chim-an-ah provides intervention and prevention programming & services to support youth and families.
AFNCJP - Criminal Courts Support
Chim-an-ah’s Justice Worker and Youth Worker help clients navigate the criminal courts and law, including assistance with criminal court applications and referrals to the appropriate agencies.
