General Information
The South Okanagan Restorative Justice program effects change within the existing criminal justice system through the reinstatement of traditional discipline and traditional community practices that assist in the rehabilitation of offenders and the healing victims of crime.
Programs and Services
SOARJP&EC - Adult Program
Services include but are not limited to bail and probation monitoring; diversion and alternative measures programming; disciplinary circles, integrated case-management circles & adult restorative sentencing circles; coordination of community work service; and facilitation of culturally relevant healing plans.
SOARJP&EC - Youth Program
South Okanagan Restorative Justice assists with the healing plans and monitoring of young offenders under the supervision of the Youth Probation office of the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
SOARJP&EC - Criminal Courts Support
South Okanagan Restorative Justice supports the healing plans of clients by appearing before the Court as needed. Upon request, the Justice Worker can provide Gladue information to the Courts.
