The Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre (VAFCS), a charitable organization, provides programs in health, welfare, social services, human rights, culture, education, recreation and equality for all genders of Aboriginal people of all age groups.
Programs and Services
VAFCS - Urban Aboriginal Navigation Team & Community Navigator Project
The Urban Aboriginal Navigation Team (UANT) provides housing and support services for Indigenous people who are in crisis, at risk of being homeless, homeless and are experiencing the effects of homelessness. This includes providing support to people experiencing homelessness during the COVID-19 outbreak in the community and at home.
VAFCS - Community Navigator Project
Designed to meet the specific needs of Indigenous peoples in the Metro Vancouver region who are experiencing absolute, hidden, at-risk, chronic or episodic homelessness, and for individuals or families who are new to the area or already living in the area.
VAFCS - Housing & Cultural Support Program
The Housing Outreach Worker (HOW) engages with unsheltered individuals dealing with homelessness, and provides support services to assist in housing placement.
VAFCS - Cultural Outreach Worker
The Cultural Worker provides client care to urban Indigenous individuals who are experiencing absolute, hidden, at-risk, chronic or episodic homelessness. This is support for personal development, including services to assist in healing for individuals, families and our urban Aboriginal community.
VAFCS - The TLC Project (Tenant-Landlord-Community Relations)
The TLC Project is a Tenant-Landlord-Community Relations project that seeks to close the existing gaps in safe and affordable housing for Aboriginal individuals and families who are or are at risk of being homeless.
VAFCS - Skeena House
Skeena House is a housing center that offers services to 54 tenants in a unique partnership with the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society (VAFCS) and the 201 Central Shelter.

VAFCS - The Urban Aboriginal HIPPY Navigation Project
This program is a partnership between Mothers Matter Centre (Home of HIPPY Canada) in collaboration with Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society, Helping Spirit Lodge Society, Cedar Cottage Neighborhood House, and Mount Pleasant Neighborhood House.
